According to reports British Airways may stop flying to Nigeria as of December 1 2022 due to the ongoing $464 million foreign airline fund crisis there. Travel agents would not be able to issue new tickets for their clients because the airline has reportedly closed down its inventory. Instead people can only purchase tickets online in US dollars. According to rumor, the decision was made to lessen the impact of the blocked funds because foreign airlines intend to take drastic measures, such as suspending flights, to pressure the Nigerian government to release their funds.
