Deborah Samuel receives a post humous US honours over Blasphemy

The murder of Deborah generated both national and international interest. America has posthumously honored Deborah Samuel, the student who was killed in Sokoto State after being accused of blasphemy. According to Pulse, the victim a 200 level home economics student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto was killed and set ablaze by some Muslim fanatics after she allegedly made a blasphemous remark about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Deborah had sent a voice message to the class WhatsApp group to warn his classmates about flooding the group with unsolicited religious material, but the extremists mistook this for a criticism of the Islamic prophet.
