In Lagos, a police officer kills a lawyer on Christmas.

On Christmas Day, a policeman is accused of shooting and killing a lawyer named Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem in the Ajiwe neighbourhood of Ajah, Lagos State. Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem belongs to the Nigerian Bar Association's Lagos branch (NBA). The yet-to-be-named Assistant Superintendent of Police shot her at close range (ASP). The family was reportedly returning from church when the event occurred under the Ajah bridge and close to the police station, according to information obtained by The Nation. Two other members of the accused killer cop's team have also been taken into custody. It was discovered that the policeman had requested Raheem's husband, who was driving, to park their car while they were reportedly extorting drivers on the highway.
