Students at UNN protest the increase in tuition

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka students have opposed the 100% increase in their tuition. The school's management published a message on December 1 outlining the many types of fees that students must pay. According to the message, new students at all of the university's faculties are required to pay a combined charge of N114,650 to N120,650, while older students are expected to pay between N85,000 and N95,000 in tuition. Old students in the university paid a fee of N40,000, and new students N8,000, prior to the current development. Students gathered on campus for a demonstration march while carrying leaves to protest the increase. The students said that even if an increase is unavoidable, a 100% increase is excessive and they are requesting a reduction.
