Buhari signs bill to change Kaduna state to Zazzau

The bill has received approval from Senate President Ahmad Lawan and has been forwarded to President Buhari for signature approval. 13 out of 15 members of the lower chamber representing various regions of Kaduna State approved the bill, which was sponsored jointly by Senators Suleiman Abdu Kwari and Uba Sani of Kaduna Central. The Red Chamber debated the bill, which received the Senate 2/3 approval. According to Ojo Olatunje Amos, the clerk of the National Assembly, 123 civil organizations from various parts of Kaduna State supported changing the name of the State to Zazzau and claimed that the new name is consistent with the history and culture of the State resident
