In the wake of hoodlums setting fire to its office in a local government in Ogun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has provided an update on some of the goods that were destroyed. Over 65,000 uncollected PVCs, according to Festus Okoye of INEC commission for information and voter education, were destroyed in the fire. In a statement, he said: Our office in the Abeokuta South local government area was attacked and set on fire, according to the resident electoral commissioner (REC) for Ogun state Dr. Niyi Ijalaiye. Around 1.15 am, some unknown people attacked the on duty security guards, overpowered them, and set the building on fire. All of the commission moveable property was destroyed in the office as well as the main structure. 30 megaphones, 29 voting cubicles, and 904 ballot boxes57 election bags, 8 electric power generators, and 65,699 uncollected permanent voters cards (PVCs) are among them.
