Politicians would likely utilize thugs for campaigns in the 2023 election, according to DSS

Nigerians have been warned by the Department of State Services (DSS) that politicians will probably employ thugs during the campaign for the 2023 elections. Mr. Abdul Enachie, director of the DSS in Kaduna, said this while presenting a report on the state security condition for the second and third quarters. According to the Daily Trust, Enachie stated that the government must take the matter seriously and take action to educate the youth about the dangers of allowing themselves to be used as thugs in the state and other parts of the nation. The DSS Director also emphasized the necessity for locals to provide security services with intelligence, and he urged the military to continue its operations against terrorists in places like Birnin Gwari and other flashpoints. He also appealed to the Federal Government to complete the Kaduna Abuja highway and Birnin Gwari highway as this would help improve the security situation on the roads.
