As a passenger boat capsizes near the Third Mainland Bridge, 17 people are rescued alive.

At approximately 7 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, a commercial passenger ferry named Fazma logistics, carrying 17 passengers, left Ikorodu ferry terminal at exactly 6:45 a.m. en route Ebute Ero but capsized near the Third mainland bridge near Bariga ferry terminal. First responders, including officers from the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), rescued all of the passengers alive. Boat recovery operations began immediately, while the boat captain is being questioned and an investigation is underway as to why it happened.
