In Nigeria, 439 foreign-trained doctors failed assessment exams.

439 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates failed the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria's assessment examination. The assessment examination was held at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto on November 23 and 24, 2022. Dr Tijani Sanusi, the council's Registrar, told Punch that 916 foreign-trained medical and dental candidates took the assessment exam, but only 477 passed. He stated: "Eight candidates passed the Dentistry examination, while 16 failed. The medical examination was taken by 892 candidates, with 469 passing and 423 failings." Sanusi went on to say that the assessment examination is a worldwide practice.
