A Daf trailer with the registration number BAU 632 XA and an 18 seat Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number GME 20 XA collided in an accident near the Yaba junction on the Abuja Lokoja expressway, according to eyewitnesses. Eyewitnesses said the 18 seater bus hit the trailer from behind as it was speeding through the Abuja Gwagwalada axis and burst into flames. Samuel Ogar Ochi, the FCT sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), confirmed the accident and blamed it on the bus driver excessive speed and the Harmattan reduced visibility.
