Atiku convoy was not attacked as alleged, according to the Borno Police Command
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar presidential candidate convoy was allegedly attacked in a North East state, according to the Borno State Police Command Dino Melaye, a PDP leader and member of the party presidential council, made the assertion earlier today. Melaye claimed that On Wednesday, November 9, while Atiku was disembarking from the rally site in Borno State, hoodlums from different political parties allegedly vandalized over 100 vehicles and over 74 people were hospitalized. He also claimed that Atiku convoy was attacked. ASP Sani Shatambaya, the state police public relations officer, responded to this Not only were the reports of the attack on the Atiku Abubakar convoy untrue, but they were also malicious attempts to mislead Nigerians. There was no assault against them. The police however paraded one Danladi Musa Abbas, 32, for attempting to disrupt the escort of the presidential candidate on the way to the airport. Shatambaya said the suspect was nabbed with a stone and upon sighting the police, he ran into a church where he was arrested. The police spokesperson added that the command is hunting for his other accomplices.
