CBN documents $2.4 billion from diaspora remittances in H1, 2022
A cash influx of $2.9 billion was noted in 2020 this year 2022, the sum has doubled as the apex bank realized $2.4 billion just in the first half of the year. The Central Bank of Nigeria reported that remittances from the diaspora climbed by $2.4 billion in the first half of the year (CBN). On Saturday, August 27 2022 in Lagos during the 33rd Seminar for Finance Correspondents and Business Editors Dr Ozoemena Nnaji Director of the CBN Trade and Exchange Department, disclosed this. Nnaji applauded the bank initiatives to implement intervention plans which in turn have kept the current low indexes from getting worse. Nnaji also mentioned the bank achievements.
